Frequently Asked Questions
about Petersen Law Offices

Where can I see one of the Petersen Law Office, P.C. attorneys?

Our office is located in West Omaha, Nebraska in the Bel Air Plaza. Our address is listed on our Contact Us page.

Are your phones really answered 24 hours a day?

Yes, they really are. Not by voice mail or answering service either. Because of the nature of our practice, we find it necessary to be available to our clients and others in need at all times. We try to have an attorney available at all times, but on occasion, you will speak with a member of the support team, who will be more than happy to help you. If you need to speak to an attorney right now, you may call 402-393-8080 and someone from our team will be happy to help you.

What if I can't see the attorney during your normal office hours?

Our attorneys will be glad to meet with people over the weekend. In fact, we have found that weekend appointments are very popular with our clients.

Do you have set office hours?

Yes. Our office hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. But remember, you can speak to us 24 hours a day by telephone. We do not have set office hours for Saturday or Sunday, but we would be happy to meet with you on a weekend and any evening.

How can I use your legal services if I do not live near you?

We help people all over the place. Many folks seem to like having a lawyer from out of their area because it cuts down on hometown gossip about their case. We can handle your case one of three ways:

1. We can come to your home.
2. You can come to our office.
3. We can do your initial consultation by telephone and then do the paperwork by mail, fax or e-mail.

Shouldn't I just try to settle my case directly with the insurance adjuster?

No, this is the worst thing you can do. The big insurance companies train their employees on how to manipulate injured people. They will be nice to you at first - to keep you from getting the legal help the adjuster knows you need. Then after they string you along far enough so that you hurt your case, they will hit you with a low-ball offer - but by then it’s too late. It's best to have a lawyer fighting for you from the start - we know all the insurance company tricks.

How much is your fee? I can't afford to pay a lawyer.

We work on a contingent fee basis. This means that you pay no fee unless we make a recovery for you. We pay all up front costs, so there is no money out of your pocket until we settle your case.
